Dossier is Hiring a Brand/Copy Manager (NYC/hybrid)

Annual salary range: $110k to $125k 

The Copy & Brand Project Manager will be responsible for building and managing the entire ecosystem that powers Dossier’s voice globally from creative storytelling in the U.S. market to the scalable systems that support translation, localization, and content adaptation internationally. 

This role bridges creative excellence and operational scale. You’ll design the frameworks, tone, and language systems that define how the brand speaks and ensure that every word, in every market, feels unmistakably Dossier.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 8–10 years of experience in brand copywriting, localization, or language strategy, ideally in global consumer brands (beauty, fashion, lifestyle).

  • Strong mix of creative sensibility and operational rigor.

  • Proven experience managing freelance networks and translation agencies across multiple markets.

  • Exceptional understanding of tone, storytelling, and adapting language for different audiences and cultures.

  • Comfort working cross-functionally with Creative, Marketing, Product, and Ops teams.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, scaling environment where quality and efficiency must coexist.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Brand Language Strategy 

  • Define and maintain Dossier’s global tone of voice and copy standards across all channels: etc but not restricted to digital, product, retail, social, packaging, and PR.

  • Build scalable frameworks and language systems to ensure creative consistency across markets.

  • Translate brand and campaign concepts into adaptable storytelling guidelines for all markets and partners.

Copywriting Leadership (U.S.) 

  • Oversee and contribute to campaign storytelling, product naming, conceptual copy, and creative briefs for the U.S. market.

  • Partner with Design, Marketing, Product and other teams to develop narrative concepts for launches, collaborations, and hero campaigns.

  • Elevate the brand’s written expression through clarity, warmth, and cultural relevance.

Global Language Operations 

  • Consolidate international copywriting, translation, and localization functions under one unified system.

  • Manage and expand a global roster of freelance writers, agencies, and translators, ensuring alignment on tone, accuracy, and quality.

  • Oversee international adaptation workflows and QA processes to ensure local nuance while maintaining brand consistency.

  • Collaborate with regional vendors to ensure that creative messaging remains relevant and impactful across markets.

Systems, Tools & Processes 

  • Implement scalable tools and templates for copy requests, translation management, and localization tracking.

  • Build and maintain a copy library and terminology brand guidelines (product language, naming conventions, style guides).

  • Partner with Operations and Marketing wholesale and whole other needs to ensure creative timelines and translation workflows align with launch cycles.
