Artsy is hiring a Social Media Manager (NYC/hybrid)

The salary range for this role spans multiple levels at $75k-$100k annually.

Artsy is looking for a Social Media Manager to help bring the art world to life across our social channels. This is a highly creative, hands-on role for someone who loves making content, is excited by visual storytelling, and wants to stay closely connected to whatโ€™s happening in New Yorkโ€™s galleries, museums, fairs and artist studios.

Youโ€™ll be creating social-first content from the ground up while helping shape how Artsy shows up in cultural conversations. From exhibition walk-throughs and art fair moments to timely trends and campaign storytelling, youโ€™ll play a key role in translating the art world into engaging, accessible social content for a global audience.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of content creation, culture, and community and whoโ€™s excited to grow their voice and craft within a collaborative marketing team. This is a hybrid role with office attendance required 2โ€“3 days per week in our New York office.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Have at least 3-5 years of social media management experience, overseeing schedule management and content creation

  • Love creating social content and have hands-on experience shooting and editing social-first video

  • Have experience supporting or managing social media accounts for a brand, publication, or creative organization

  • Are highly organized and comfortable juggling multiple projects, deadlines, and content streams

  • Have a strong sense of voice and enjoy writing clear, engaging copy tailored to different platforms

  • Are curious, collaborative and excited to learn through feedback and experimentation

  • Are interested in art, culture, or creative industries or are excited to learn more by being immersed in them

  • Are authorized to live and work in the United States

RESPONSIBILITIES

This role reports to Artsyโ€™s Social Media Lead within the Growth & Lifecycle Marketing (GLM) team, part of the broader B2C Marketing organization. Youโ€™ll work closely with colleagues across Content, Brand, GLM, and Sales to support multi-channel campaigns that drive brand awareness and engagement - while staying deeply plugged into the rhythm of the art world in New York and beyond.

  • Create social-first, platform-native content with a strong focus on short-form, lo-fi (iPhone) video - capturing exhibitions, events, studio visits, campaigns, and timely art-world moments

  • Manage Artsyโ€™s day-to-day social presence, including scheduling and publishing across platforms

  • Write engaging captions that reflect Artsyโ€™s brand voice and make art feel accessible, exciting, and relevant

  • Collaborate on organic and paid social campaigns by organising assets, supporting rollouts and helping bring larger marketing initiatives to life on social

  • Support content development by coordinating outreach and logistics with artists, galleries, and creators for approved content ideas and partnerships

  • Work cross-functionally with marketing and sales colleagues to ensure social content aligns with broader campaigns and company goals

  • Stay on top of social, art, and culture trends and proactively pitch ideas for new formats, experiments, and creative approaches

  • Track performance and surface insights from social analytics to help refine content and improve engagement over time

In your first 3 months, you will:

  • Get up to speed on Artsyโ€™s brand voice, platforms, and social workflows

  • Confidently support day-to-day social operations, including scheduling, publishing, and asset coordination

  • Begin creating social-first video content using established Artsy formats

  • Build strong working relationships with Marketing, Editorial, Growth, and Brand stakeholders to support campaign delivery

By 6 Months, You Will

  • Regularly create and publish engaging, on-brand social content tied to campaigns and cultural moments

  • Actively contribute creative ideas that help evolve Artsyโ€™s social presence

  • Begin tracking and reporting on social performance metrics, using insights to inform content optimisations

  • Identify early opportunities to grow Artsyโ€™s social channels through new formats, platform features, or audience-focused experiments
