Book of the Month is Hiring a Copywriter (NYC)

Book of the Month is seeking a Copywriter to write in our brand voice and help shape the stories we tell across marketing, product, and brand. You’ll be writing everything from top-performing ads to product copy, and bringing a perspective that’s funny, smart, and sometimes a little unexpected (but never off-brand).

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000

Since our founding in 1926, we’ve chosen many unknown books that later became iconic works of American fiction.

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 3+ years working as a Copywriter at an agency under a proven and talented Copywriter who helped you learn your craft. 

  • Deep knowledge of relevant and exciting brands in the space.

  • Someone who stays on this pulse and possesses good judgment on taste

  • Fiction reader and strong researcher. 

  • Self-starter, energetic, curious. A forever student mentality. You actively study your craft and actively seek to improve. 

  • Experience writing jokes, writing within a range of POVs, and working on storyboarding and campaigns.

  • Experience ideating and conceptualizing effective, creative copy that is rooted in business objectives, aligned with a brand. 

  • Experience working collaboratively, quickly and under pressure, while maintaining a high quality of organized output.  

  • Impeccable grammar and technical writing skills.

  • Is invigorated by dynamic change. 

  • Has experience working cross-functionally (client or stakeholders) to complete brief requests.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conceptualize, write and create original copy that cuts through the noise and grabs people’s attention for digital and social platforms and campaigns. 

  • Adhere to our brand voice and style guidelines while adopting it for various applications. 

  • Present copy concepts that are rooted in insightful and strategic thinking. 

  • Possess and demonstrate a sense of humor in your tone while still maintaining a sense of our brand voice. 

  • Collaborate with a team of in-house and freelance designers to conceptualize and execute cross-channel brand campaigns.
