Muji is Hiring a Web Designer (Tokyo/Hybrid)
As a UI/UX designer at MUJI, you will be responsible for web design related to sites such as https://www.muji.com/jp/ja/stories/campaign, as well as features and promotions. We are looking for someone who can review all of MUJI's past initiatives, think outside the box, and help us create a system that will make customers love MUJI even more. This is a sales promotion design job that requires both qualitative and quantitative quality, in order to maximize sales by conveying the appeal of products and services while accurately expressing the "MUJI way." With over 12 million online store members, your output has a significant impact on society, making this a very rewarding environment. Since we have only recently started in-house production, we are able to flexibly consider new methods by involving others from the business design stage.
In order to realize a "comfortable lifestyle and society," we have entered our "second founding phase" from September 1, 2021. We have set a goal of becoming a group of independently run stores that think for themselves and take on new challenges, and are embarking on a "second founding period" with the strong desire to "create a new Ryohin Keikaku" so that we can propose lifestyles based on the MUJI philosophy to the world.
Division's mid-term plan
- Create a perfect website and app that serves as a sales floor, catalog, and information source.
- All logistics-related services, such as home delivery, customer orders, and receipts, will be digitized and can be completed through an app.
- Complete e-commerce and services linked to stores, such as online consultations and live commerce.
- Build mechanisms and systems to support direct communication between individual stores and customers.
ยทTo commercialize agriculture and food, we will build infrastructure (website, payment, logistics) that directly connects producers and customers.
ยทBuild infrastructure (website, payment, return logistics) for secondary markets, recycling, and repairs.
As part of Ryohin Keikaku's second founding, the company's missions are to "provide a pleasant online experience" and "increase e-commerce sales from the current 10% to 30% by 2030." These are core initiatives in the second founding.
About the company
MUJI, which debuted in December 1980 with 40 items as a private brand of Seiyu Stores (now Seiyu LLC), has expanded to approximately 7,500 items and stores in 29 countries and regions, including Japan. Established in 1989, Ryohin Keikaku is a manufacturing and retailer that handles everything from planning and development of MUJI products to product procurement, distribution, and sales. It also operates Cafรฉ & Meal MUJI and IDรE, and operates campgrounds. REQUIREMENTS
Website and app design experience (3+ years of experience in screen design and web design)
Comprehensive knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML/CSS/JavaScript
Understanding trends in website UX, construction approaches, CMS, analysis tools, etc.
Understanding and practical experience of the general work process for building websites
Those who have experience in planning, production, promotion, campaign design, etc. at advertising agencies, production companies, or business companies
Experience building e-commerce in the consumer goods industry
Experience actively involved in website production work with an awareness of UX/IA
Practical experience in external negotiations and creating proposal materials
Practical experience in web analysis
RESPONSIBILITIES
General web page production work (visual/UI design)
Planning and production of web design for our company's general sales promotions, including special feature pages
Design promotional materials using creative ideas
