Catbird is Hiring a Visual Assistant (Brooklyn, NY / Hybrid)

Catbird is looking for a visuals (photography and videography) assistant and administrative coordinator with a strong portfolio to join our Art Department. Our team is responsible for bringing jewelry to life through all brand touch points -- marketing, e-commerce, social media, packaging, print advertising, events and our stores.

Compensations: $50,000/year

REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-2 years photography editing and/or teching experience, agency or in-house brand experience a plus

  • A robust background in digital photography with an interest in design and branding

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) with a strong understanding of hierarchy, composition and color

  • Strong photography and videography knowledge and basic retouching skills with an interest to learn and develop those skills

  • A meticulous eye for detail and a passion for organization

  • A sensibility for current social, visual and digital trends and best practices

  • The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • A self-motivated attitude and a goal of going above and beyond

  • Eagerness to learn and develop professionally

  • Familiarity with CaptureOne and/or After Effects a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regularly assist with photoshoots in our in-house studio, photo-teching alongside staff photographer; occasionally assist on outside photoshoots

  • Maintain weekly product photography log, inventory physical samples, and manage modeling schedule and logistics

  • Handle departmental digital file management and flow

  • Organize and audit digital assets and photography archives

  • Support Visuals Editor with photography retouching and file formatting

  • Curate and deliver photo and video assets for catbirdnyc.com and social media

  • Maintain our office photography studio, ensuring equipment, props, wardrobe and supplies are tidy and stocked at all times
