Boden is Hiring a Womenswear Senior Print Designer (London, UK)

A Senior WW Print Designer is primarily responsible for designing product ranges and overseeing a department/specialist categories. They must inspire, mentor, and manage a team with the support of the Design Manager. They have exceptional on brand creative output and ideation, whilst ensuring cohesive ranges across categories that create balanced and unique product for the customer. A brilliant sense of print and colour is needed as well as being able to ensure the Boden brand values are reflected in designs. We’re famous for our love of print and originality is key; being able to print and draw to a high standard is also a must.

Vintage prints are also part of our signature style, and the Senior Designer is expected to have an eye for detail and an excellent sense of colour who can produce original designs as well as re-colour vintage prints in an exciting, uplifting way. Being able to work alongside relevant product teams to create commercial yet creative ranges is essential. Awareness of trends, trade, fabric, and margin crunch points to enable the execution of balanced ranges. Inspirational shopping/supplier visits are required at this level as well as additional creative projects briefed by the Senior Team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent knowledge of competitor & aspirational brands.

  • Excellent eye for colour/print/design.

  • Ability to paint and draw to a high standard.

  • Excellent CAD skills including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Tex Design. (preferable but not essential).

  • PLM experience preferable.

  • BAhons Fashion Design/Print/Illustration/Textiles.

  • 6 years relevant design experience at Designer level.

  • Management experience required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Following the seasonal strategy to design unique and innovative ranges for our customer.

  • Lead the team as well as upward management.

  • Employ an excellent sense of print and colour.

  • Apply excellent attention to detail and accuracy from sketch stage to production.

  • Gain inspiration and innovative design ideas from a variety of sources to ensure unique Boden product.

  • Employ strong delegation skills as well as effectively prioritise tasks and effectively manage time.

  • Regular presenting of ranges to senior teams as well as involvement in building ranges.

  • Ability to edit and show concise ideas as well as self-evaluation and problem solving.

  • Maintain critical path dates and ensure deadlines are met including within immediate team.

  • Dolly print ideas within suitable CAD drawings and development/artwork packs

  • Be involved in approvals at all stages from development to production, including washes/fabrics/techniques.

  • Maintain strong relationships with Product teams.

    • PLM management including, uploading of tech packs, colours, and creating BOMS.

  • Strong fabric, technique/process, and fit knowledge essential.

  • Regular comp shop and inspirational shopping trips.
