Benefit Cosmetics is Hiring a Creative Copy Lead (San Francisco / Hybrid)

The Creative Copy Lead provides leadership and direction for all storytelling, messaging, and copy and story that appears in global product, service, and brand campaigns and on digital. This role partners with cross functional teams to facilitate global toolkit production, cohesive messaging hierarchy, and leads story for all campaigns and projects. This role acts as cross-functional partner to the following teams: Campaign & Content, Program Management, Marketing Communications, Public Relations, Experience Design, Legal, Regulatory, and Product & Service Innovation departments. This role manages Senior Copywriter and Copywriter positions.

Hybrid - requires onsite presence weekly

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience creating and executing creative concepts, campaigns, and deliverables, and delivering compelling marketing copy for digital and social platforms

  • Proven experience writing advertising copy and headlines, honing brand tone and voice(s), and comedic writing

  • Ability to lead creative pre- and post- production of video and photography

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite

  • Academic background in English, journalism, copywriting, public relations, or literary/media studies; BA Degree required

  • 7+ years of experience as copywriter/content creator in e-commerce, advertising, and/or marketing

  • Robust portfolio of creative samples (advertising, digital/web, social, video, short form copy)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees all campaign, digital, press and in-store storytelling, concepting and copy

  • Oversees, strategizes, and manages website content storytelling strategy, creation and updates, and optimizes messaging to ensure one cohesive and seamless customer experience online

  • Creates video scripts and oversees story on video and photo shoots, including pre- and post-production

  • Leads & evolves Always On program to deliver rapid content creation that is topical, digital forward, and engagement-driven to help markets boost social followers, engagement, and brand love, as well as content that supports global toolkits

  • Researches and provides reports to educate Copy and Global Team on digital storytelling trends, social media platforms, Gen Z insights & language best practices

  • Manages relationship with global digital site management team for PDP e-commerce updates, SEO keyword strategy & landing page content

  • Manages and mentors two writers
