Beautycounter is Hiring a Copywriter (Santa Monica, CA / Remote)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Innate creativity and an interest in beauty/wellness.

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to translate strategic briefs into accurate, thoughtful creative.

  • Ability to remain both resourceful and nimble while managing a large volume of work.

  • Clear understanding of priorities and strong time management skills.

    Experience & Qualifications

  • BS/BA in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of writing and editing experience.

  • 2+ years of copywriting.

  • Highly creative and conceptual writer with an interest in marketing.

  • Must be comfortable with using a conversational editorial approach.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate.

  • Ability to leverage a close working relationship with cross-functional partners.

  • Impeccable attention to detail and quality assurance.

  • Strong prioritization, time management and excellent organizational skills.

  • Must be results-oriented and possess an entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

  • Understanding of metrics, including the ability to interpret performance results and take action to increase effectiveness.

  • Interest in research, audience identification, industry trends, content trends, etc.

  • Ability to see the bigger picture and look at work holistically.

  • A willingness to embrace change and to adapt to strategic pivots.

  • Experience utilizing content management software, social media platforms, MS Office, Microsoft Word, and Excel (Wordpress knowledge a bonus).

  • MUST be able to work PST hours

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the copy team from ideation through execution and release, crafting copy that ladders up to business/project objectives while staying close to the brand voice.

  • Write copy that serves many needs across the business: promos, product launches, Member acquisition drives, etc. Deliverables include email, blog, site updates, video copy, PDP, product training/education materials, in-store store signage, social copy, performance marketing, and more.

  • Work efficiently within tight deadlines to manage numerous projects, delivering concise, accurate, and polished copy with strong calls to action.

  • Support ACD and fellow writers as needed with research, brainstorming, and edits.

  • Utilize and maintain the current database for copy so that content remains both organized and discoverable.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry and marketing trends in order to create the most timely and compelling copy.

  • Support the development of a monthly content calendar, pitching topics, themes, and ideas.

  • Work closely with proofreaders to adhere to and maintain the copy Style Guide.

SALARY/COMPENSATION

The salary range listed below is for work locations in the United States, with individual pay determined by several factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, education, and training. Salary ranges are determined in good faith by role, level, and location. As a remote-eligible job, salary ranges for specific locations will be provided upon request.

Salary Range: $60,000—$73,000 USD
Bonus: Additional compensation includes an annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.
