Watch A Day In the Life of Brooklyn Illustrator Fran Meneses
Fran Meneses is a Chilean queer illustrator, author and content creator whose YouTube channel gives an inside look at her life as a professional illustrator. Like any artist, freelance or full-timer, the lifestyle comes with a few side gigs. It’s the added income that makes an artist thrive financially these days.
In her past video titled “How to make money as an illustrator”, she breaks down all the elements of how to make money doing creative works. For Fran it’s creating and producing digital zines that are available in her online shop, to paid collaborations/commissions and her ongoing and widely popular YouTube channel along with her Patreon providing exclusive content for paid subscribers.
In her “day in the life” vlog, we capture little moments of Fran’s daily life from cat snuggles and the envious slow morning routines. She is in her work studio around 9am, which at least for myself is inspiring since I’m very much trying to break out of the work from home syndrome. I like Fran’s style of mellow, non-chaotic rush work life and intend to contribute those traits into my work style in 2023.
