5 Good Leather Jackets a la Julia Roberts in Notting Hill
Julia Roberts in Notting Hill
by Christiane Salamat
If the 20-year fashion rule rings true, then it’s nigh time for the return of our favorite Y2K trends. One classic piece that we can’t get enough of is the glorious, sleek leather coat. These coats were everywhere in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, and for good reason! They’re not too bulky, last almost forever, and pair well with just about any outfit.
On a particularly lucky day a couple months ago, I scored my own vintage Lord & Taylor leather blazer, and I’ve been obsessed ever since. If you can’t find a leather coat at your local thrift store, here are a few other options that will help you channel your inner Notting Hill-era Julia Roberts.
COS * BOXY COLLARED LEATHER JACKET * $590
Up for your consideration is this boxy faux leather blazer that features an authentic ‘90s-style cut and fit at an affordable price.
TOTEME * PANELED TEXTURED LEATHER JACKET * $2,600
A leather jacket can be a worthwhile investment purchase since you want to be able to wear it years and years from now. Toteme has an elegant cut with enough room to layer shirts or knitwear underneath. that makes it perfect for layering over chunky sweaters.
MADEWELL THE BEDFORD OVERSIZED LEATHER BLAZER $568
The faux leather shacket for the autumn season, but lightweight enough to layer it come colder weather. Being oversized you can treat yourself to more pizza slices without showing for it.
MASSIMO DUTTI * DISTRESSED NAPA LEATHER COAT * $890
Love this vintage inspired 90’s icon classic. Perfectly oversized with inseamed front pockets, so you can go ahead and sneak in some treats for your next movie night.
REFORMATION * VEDA SUTTON JACKET * $598
We love this modernized version, yet in a vintage cut of a leather blazer. The length allows it to be so versatile that you can wear it over any kind of look.
