Must-Have Summer Hair Care Essentials

I love my naturally wavy hair, and I like to be able to wake up in the morning and get going without messing around with it very much. So, to keep it at its best during summer months that can be hard on it, I start using these three hair products — good for every hair type — as soon as I get my pre-summer trim.
SUN PROTECTION
Sun protection for our strands is just as important as the daily SPF we should all be wearing on our skin (which I’m guilty of forgetting sometimes). While there aren’t that many products on the market yet made specifically for the sun, spritzing your regular heat protectant before going out will work wonders to prevent the heat of the sun from giving you dry, brittle hair.

SCALP CARE
Summer is just as hard on the scalp as it is on any other part of your skin, and what’s more is it’s often overlooked as a part of haircare. Heat protectant will help keep sun damage at bay, but with exposure to chlorine or salt water and increased sweat, your scalp might need a little extra love.

MOISTURE
This one seems obvious but it’s SO important that I’ll mention it anyway. Summer makes hair dry, whether or not you spend all of your time out with full exposure to the elements. At the least, a moisturizing hair mask or oil and a really good conditioner are necessary for your summer hair routine, but some hair experts also say to drench hair in a moisturizing product before getting in a pool or swimming at the beach.
