Girl To Know: Sophia Wilson
Sophia Wilson has been on the up and up in the fashion scene since she was 16 yrs old. Well, actually thirteen when she first shot for a fashion publication, but had to lie about her age. Growing up in downtown Manhattan exposed Wilson to creative artists, skaters and fashion.
Skater Haven for Vogue Italia
Being a downtown kid meant photoshoots on the weekends, while weekdays were for homework and the occasional agency meetings. Not your average American teen. Besides working as a professional photographer, Wilson also shuffles in her own work as a visual artist. She focuses on the theme of utopia and fantasy shooting mostly in 35mm film, whether it’s a fashion story or one of her creative friends.

Now at age eighteen, she has already worked with major players, shoots with Vogue, i-D and has done campaigns with Vans as well as an impressive hype collab with Nike. Although she has already achieved half of what most budding photographers would hope for by their twenties, Wilson continues to further herself as she’s currently a BFA student at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Wilson is proof that you’re never too young to hustle and go for what you want.
