Girl To Know: Manjit Thapp ✎

Manjit Thapp is an illustrator out of the UK combining digital with traditional media. Years ago, I caught sight of Manjit's  beautiful "girlpower" illustrations on Instagram and instantly fell for her use of vibrant colors and mental messaging of female empowerment, particularly in the arts. In most of her drawings she references Asian culture to portray females of her generation. Then, there is her penchant for fashion, film, such as her ode to Wes Anderson, which she designed an entire 40 page zine back in 2017. Her illustrations are not only visually defining the generation of the new wave of feminism, but it's certainly relatable to fashion, tech and pop culture.

Her past collaborations with brands like Byredo, Apartment Therapy along with features in MoMa, have all explored the artist’s portrayal of “girlhood” in the modern, yet non-traditional forms.
