Are We Still on the Go?

We are still living through a pandemic and much of our lives have been rearranged, reshuffled and perhaps redefined. Try to think back to a busy, chaotic day when you bustled from home to office, to errands, to parties, to dinners, to random first dates, to weddings, to the movies, to a live musical event and the list of memories goes on.

It feels like a million years ago that we had normal, hectic lives. Do we miss it? Or have we just dealt with it, this new normal as they say. Maybe the great 2020 lockdown slowed us down enough to allow us to appreciate the new normalcy of our days and nights. As for myself, I admit to have found contentment in being in pajama bottoms by no later than 7pm, sometimes on a Friday night.

Things we need to keep in check throughout the rest of 2021 and even beyond 2022.

Our office life will never resume back to full normalcy at least still not for awhile. The idea of huddling in a crowded elevator gives me chills. We’ll probably be a lot more choosy when it comes to group lunch dates. And most likely we’l always have Zoom.

Our days of rush hour feels like a scene in a movie we once loved to rewind and watch over and over again. We find ourselves saying “back when” and “pre-Corona” in this new era of casual conversations. Things have gotten busy again, but when life goes back to giving you lemons to juggle, maybe we won’t hurry too much.

Now we know what it’s like to slow down, take walks and actually enjoy our morning coffee. Those little things may not be at our disposal forever.
