What began as an Instagram page has become a movement, and has now launched into an e-commerce platform for Black owned brands. Black Owned Everything’s founder Zerina Akers whom you may know as Beyonce’s stylist, has curated a thoughtfully edited selection of Black designers/small businesses to shop and support.

The reason(s) we should be shopping Black businesses is simple, because all these years not only have Black business owners have fought through systematic oppression, they were not visible. Instead of fast fashion, instead of Amazon, it is a better idea to seek out quality, mindfully made products by Black businesses and celebrate Black creators. This is the community that Zerina Akers is building and one that we should all be participating in some way.
