5 Good Looks From Proenza Schouler SS23

My favorite thing about Proenza Schoulerโ€™s spring-summer collection is how reminiscent it is of Madonnaโ€™s 90โ€™s concert tour documentary Truth or Dare. The oversized flamenco sleeves and bottoms makes me want to twirl and start Vogueing (yet if only I knew how).

With digital waterfalls as the backdrop, Venezuelan trans musician Arca opened the show in a draped two-piece that also reminded me of an 1980โ€™s Madonna music video. The collection feels celebratory and proud, as Lazaro Hernandez said to Vogueโ€™s Nicole Phelps, โ€œI leaned into my Latin identity, Iโ€™m Cuban,โ€ he said. The designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough collaborated with artisan weavers in Bolivia who contributed four pieces in the spring-summer line.
