Fashion's Women of Color: Jacquemus SS21

Jacquemus SS21

French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus of the eponymous line Jacquemus presented the Spring-Summer 2021 collection amidst a field of dreams. Quite literally, the runway show took place in a rural countryside of fields an hour away from Paris. While exercising social distancing, both models and the few invited guests, who sat deep within the fields watched a meditative symphony in the theme L’Amour in dedication to his team.

It was important to have a show because it’s at the heart of our brand; our strategy revolves around the moment,” Jacquemus told Vogue Paris. Women of color were well represented, Jacquemus has consistently supported this with past collections. Noticeably in this show were more inclusivity with women’s sizing. The collection itself had the silhouette breeze and structure for women quarantining in the South of France.
